Rainbow Wellington seeking new blood

Tue 25 Feb 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Rainbow Wellington will take to the public library for its AGM this year, and is calling for nominations for new board members. Current Board members Adrian Sainsbury, Phil Rogers and Steve Farrow will be at the end of their two-year terms. Rogers and Farrow are standing again, but Sainsbury is standing down after many years of service. “We hope that we will receive nominations for new Board members, as we cannot rely on the same people indefinitely,” a Board spokesman says. The AGM will be held on Thursday 20 March, at 6pm, hosted by Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown, who is also the group’s patron. The Town Hall is not available so the AGM will be held in a meeting room on the mezzanine floor at Wellington Public Library, 65 Victoria Street. An agenda will be released soon, however the Board is planning two constitutional amendments. One is related to a recent law change which means smaller charities will no longer need even an annual review by an auditor. The second constitutional amendment will add a further sentence to Rainbow Wellington’s list of objects on its commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.
