Written by Victor Rodger, Black Faggot is a series of comedy monologues exploring the gay Samoan male experience. It first appeared as part of the 2013 Auckland Pride Festival and Auckland Fringe Festival. GayNZ.com reviewer Jay Bennie said it “may well be the most poignantly hilarious show, on radio, TV, the movies, the net or on stage that you'll see for a decade. Probably longer.” It cleaned up at the Auckland Fringe Awards and won a slot at the Melbourne Fringe Festival, where it in turn won awards for Innovation in Theatre and Innovation in Cultural Diversity. Victor Rodger was also awarded the 2013 Creative New Zealand Arts Pasifika Awards Contemporary Artist Award.
