Fri 21 Feb 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Overwatch in the Auckland Pride Parade New Zealand's Defence Force has been ranked the most inclusive in the world, in a new index. It sits ahead of the Netherlands, Britain, Sweden, Australia, Canada, Denmark and Belgium in the LGBT Military Index. The Hague-based Centre for Strategic Studies think-tank used admittance, tolerance, exclusion or persecution of gay soldiers to measure more than 100 armies worldwide. New Zealand’s ban on lgbt people serving in the military was lifted two decades ago. More recently the group OverWatch was set up as a support network, and made history by marching in the Auckland Pride Parade.
