Fri 7 Feb 2014 In: International News

Internet giant Google has made a powerful statement in favour of gay rights, with a rainbow-hued Winter Olympics home page picture ahead of the Opening Ceremony. Anyone who carries out a Google search will see the image, and the following quote from the Olympic Charter: "The practice of sport is a human right. The International Olympic Committee has been heavily criticised for continuing to hold the Winter Olympics in the Russian city of Sochi, due to Russia's anti-gay laws and reports of increased hatred and attacks on gay people in the nation.
