Great Pride debate to renew MPs' rivalry

Sat 18 Jan 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News

Green MP Jan Logie's wedding number was one of the many memorable moments from the 2013 Debate Auckland MPs Nikki Kaye and Jacinda Ardern will once again lead teams in a head-to-head battle at The Great Auckland Pride Debate, with the moot “Gays Do It Better”. Last year Team Jacinda and crewmembers Jan Logie and Urzila Carlson took the title, in a hilarious sold-out event which raised cash for Rainbow Youth. This year the irreverent event will be held at the Event Centre atop Auckland Museum and the proceeds will go to OUTLine. Urzila Carlson will be back, while others who will feature in the night are Jeremy Elwood, Ricardo Simich, Carole Beu, Paul Heard, Buckwheat and MC Steven Oates. Oates promises it will be a debate that will “break all the rules”. He warns tickets need to be booked early as the popular event is likely to sell out once again. The Great Auckland Pride Debate When: Tuesday 18 February, 8pm Where: Auckland Museum Event Centre Tickets: Adult $30, Student/Concession $25 Book: www.aucklandmuseum.com or 09 306 7048 This event is licensed and R18
