A new year brings new hope for some amazing live shows! We look at out some of the out and gay-fave artists and bands who are performing at festivals over the next couple of months. This Friday: Big Day Out The list gay musos who graced the stage at Mt Smart Stadium over the years is pretty amazing, and the Big Day Out’s return rings true to that tradition. While their line-up has been revamped since their past packed Auckland shows, fun Brazilian electro-pop band CSS still includes lesbian guitarist Luiza Sá, who even proposed to her girlfriend on stage last year – with rainbow flags in the background and all! The whole band is super queer-friendly. (5.45PM Lakeside stage) According to The Advocate, Chaz Bundick AKA Toro y Moi is openly-gay.
