Bruce Kilmister Body Positive has acknowledged the helpful work done by the just wound up Northland AIDS Network in its twenty five years of helping people affected by HIV. "I guess it's a sign of the times to see such an organisation wound up,"says Body Positive General Manager Bruce Kilmister, "It's a shame because it has meant such a lot to so many people over the years." The volunteers will be re-branded Body Positive Northland and parent organisation Body Positive in Auckland will be doing the admin side. Currently assisting around 30 HIV-positive people, there are around 20 regular volunteers and Kilmister says Body Positive is delighted that the Northland volunteers will continue working to help people affected by HIV. "They have always been very effective and generous with their time and expertise." Kilmister says the volunteers are currently running a series of barbecues to raise funds and have been organising an HIV awareness roadshow which will be toured around Northland.
