Vinegar Hill readying for influx of campers

Sat 21 Dec 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News

Campers are beginning to arrive at the campest campground in the land for the annual Christmas and New Year revelry. Plans are being hatched for the usual plethora of parties at the Manawatu summer hot spot, with the first to be announced a "Camp Kamp" Glow Party on the 28th of December. There will be a Toga Party at Camp David the following night, the traditional softball tournament on the 30 December and of course a massive New Year's Eve event. Reigning Queen of Vinegar Hill HRH Queen Nurse Gladys says there will be a "royal tax" of $2 a night per person, which will be payable at the palace upon arrival. The camp fees of $5 a person each night will be collected by Manawatu District Council staff. "Please be honest and ensure you pay not only your royal tax but also the camp fees to the council," Queen Nurse Gladys says.
