Tamihere attempting to sue MediaWorks

Fri 20 Dec 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

John Tamihere John Tamihere is taking legal action against MediaWorks over his departure from Radio Live, and says it's being run by a "sisterhood". After being stood down for the way he and co-host Willie Jackson treated a young woman who was a friend of a Roast Busters victim, he’s been replaced by openly-bi presenter Ali Mau. Tamihere also has a long history of attacking glbti Kiwis on the airwaves, and of making misogynistic statements. The former Labour MP has told Radio Waatea he has begun legal action against his former MediaWorks. "I'm telling you this morning I will be litigating again with Mediaworks very shortly so you can read all the salacious bits in the affidavits and in the emails, but whenever I go anywhere I will go on my own terms, won't go on anyone else's terms," he said. "It's interesting too at Mediaworks, it's a sisterhood running it and I'm just writing up my affidavit now and reflecting on it, it's amazing, it's back to the future with Helen and co."
