Want the best view in the house? Marshals are needed! Volunteers are being sought for the Auckland Pride Festival and Parade, with the only stipulation that they are "enthusiastic, welcoming and thoughtful". Organisers say a wide variety of jobs need to be filled, so people from all backgrounds and with a broad variety of skills are in demand. "Smart and dedicated" marketing interns are required by the Festival Director Julian Cook, to help with everything from photo shoots and publicity appearances to social networking, internal communications, database development and programme distribution. You can email festival@aucklandpridefestival.org.nzif you would like to express interest. Parade Director Richard Taki needs a variety of Parade Marshals, a job which comes with the best views of the parade. People who put their hand up will need to go to several training sessions, including health and safety briefings. To get involved, complete the Auckland Pride Parade Volunteer Registration Form hereor email Volunteer Coordinator, Trevor Hynes: trevorhynes@gmail.com
