Sam Ganafa A Ugandan gay rights campaigner has been arrested and it’s not clear what charges he is facing. Sam Ganafa and two house guests have been detained by police. Ganafa is director of Spectrum Uganda Initiatives and chair of Sexual Minorities Uganda. There are rumours the arrest comes after an ex-lover claimed he contracted HIV after gay sex with him. It’s not clear whether the claims are genuine or made up, but police have reportedly taken him for an HIV test. Ganafa’s home has been used as a shelter for homeless gay, bi and trans people. It's not clear whether the two other people arrested fall into these categories.
