Wed 13 Nov 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

The late Peter Taylor Auckland gay men's bar Urge has raised around $1,100 for Peter Taylor’s trust with a charity auction. The auction over the weekend saw meals at Caluzzi, Marcellos and the Auckland Art Gallery Café go under the hammer, along with goodies from Centurian and The Basement. There was also a voucher from Caltex, champagne, books and cooking gear, as well as some Shane Ruff Studio Limited Edition handmade prints The proceeds will go to the later Peter Taylor’s Don’t Postpone Joy Trust, which looks after children with HIV, or have lost their parents to AIDS-related illnesses. Among his many achievements, Taylor was one of the founders of Urge. He died in September after deciding to stop treatments for the HIV and leishmaniasis infections which were increasingly destroying his quality of life.
