Composer to bring music and poetry to Mixtape

Alex Taylor Renowned young composer Alex Taylor will be a feature of the second instalment of Romp Project's Mixtape Sessions in Auckland tonight. The youngest person to have ever received the SOUNZ Contemporary Award, his work has been performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and the NZTrio. Romp Project says Taylor will bring "a quiet, intimate presence to the stage" with a set mixing contemporary piano, vocals and poetry. Other acts are singer-songwriter Missie Moffat, Italian pianist Flavio Villani and rapper Boy Wonderrr. Doors at St Kevin's Arcade on K' Rd open at 8PM for Mixtape Sessions, and entry is by koha. Romp Project is a not-for-profit collective which was created to bring alternative events to glbti Aucklanders.
