Rankine at the end of her swim (picture thanks to Julie Stirling) Auckland swimmer Jenny Rankine has broken the New Zealand National Masters W60 50m Butterfly record. The member of gay swim club Team Auckland Masters Swimming came in at a time of 38.61 seconds, shaving over a second off the old record, at the North Island Short Course Champs over the weekend. Meanwhile Wellington's Kirsten Cameron has two official new world records, in the 1500m and 800m. The straight swimmer took part in the Asia Pacific Outgames in Wellington in 2011, only to have her record-breaking efforts contentiously left unrecognised by the sport’s governing body.
