Get In On! makes way for Love Your Condom

Wed 9 Oct 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News View at NDHA

Get It On! is to be officially rebranded as LYC, or Love Your Condom. LYC was developed in 2011 and the condom promotion wing of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation says it has now become a strong brand in its own right, after being used more and more as the visual identifier for Get It On! Spokesman Joe Rich says moving forward with the LYC brand is the obvious choice. “LYC is less about us and more about the communities we work with. Where Get it On! stood for condom use, LYC reflects and encourages guys to embrace condom use as a community norm, and do it on their terms.” The brand has been seen in a colourful float in the Auckland Pride Parade, where 50,000 condoms were distributed. It is also on billboards, bus stop ads, online and mobile app ads, street posters and ambient media in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Rich says the Facebook page now has over 12,000 followers and offers free condoms and lube, giveaways, and reaches a community of men and their friends and whānau who support condom use. “The feedback from the community has been really encouraging; people feel that having the ‘Love Your Condom’ message in such a range of prominent mediums is a good thing and adds strength to what is a really important message. And there’s much more to come!” From Wednesday 16 October the LYC website will be live at www.loveyourcondom.co.nz and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/loveyourcondom.
