Taylor's memorial service to be Monday 23rd

Mon 16 Sep 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News

A memorial service for the late Peter Taylor, who lost his battle with twin infections diseases and exhausting treatments will be held next Monday. Taylor, exhausted from the ravages of HIV teamed with leishmaniasis and years of chemotherapy, debilitating medications and surgical interventions, stopped all treatments two weeks ago and passed away late Sunday night. A private family cremation has been held but his family and his partner Rodney Coleman and his family have issued an open invitation to celebrate Taylor's life at Auckland's St Matthew's in the City church, 187 Federal Street from 3-5pm. Taylor requested no flowers but that donations in lieu of flowers be given to the Cartier Bereavement Trust for which a donation box will be at the church. The dress code is: "no black, colour befitting a party." Caluzzi bar on Karangahape Road will be open after the service for those who wish to gather in a relaxed setting and continue their remembrances of Taylor.
