Tash Vitali and Melissa Ray 7.15AM: The countdown is ticking towards two Radio Station promotional weddings marking the first day of legal same-sex marriage in New Zealand. In Auckland Tash Vitali and Melissa Ray will be married at the Ponsonby Road Unitarian Church at 8pm. Two couples, Richard Rawstorn and Richard Andrew, and Jess Ives and Rachael Briscoe will be married at the historic  Rotorua Museum. Guests are already assembling at both venues. In Auckland deputy mayor Penny Hulse and MP Louisa Wall who pushed the marriage Equality bill through Parliament in April will attend and TV cameras from a variety of channels are already setting up. Details of the Ceremonies are being kept largely under wraps but in Auckland there will be two flower girls and the married couple will depart by horse and carriage for their reception at the Cloud on the waterfront.
