New gay event company ready to party

Joe Rich and Jordan Eskra A brand spanking new gay event company has been formed and will splash onto the scene in style, with a grand arrival party in October. The company, Theta Project, has been created by Joe Rich and Jordan Eskra who say they have a vision for a fresh addition to Auckland’s gay scene. “We are keen to create a new space in which the gay community and their friends can come together and celebrate all the great things about who we are” Eskra says. The first event will be Propaganda, on 5 October at Toto’s’ intimate underground venue, Bacco Room. DJ Adam Love It will feature Sydney Mardi Gras headliner DJ Adam Love, in his first Auckland appearance. The Aussie DJ has supported Lady Gaga, The Freemasons, Moto Blanco, Wayne G and The Potbelleez. Two of New Zealand’s top gay DJs and local favourites, Donald Bennett and James Leuii will also be spinning on the night, supported by rising talent Mana Tai. “All going well Propaganda will be the first of many parties and events for Theta Project,” Eskra says. Tickets on sale 9 August and available at iTICKET.co.nz, Marcello’s Café, Real Groovy, Caluzzi and Conch Records.
