Another complaint about safe-sex ads scrapped

Sat 3 Aug 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News

Yet another gay-hating objection to one of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation's billboards has been thrown out, with the latest bigot objecting to 'promotion of homosexuality'. The billboards in the Get It On! Love Your Condom campaign have attracted a series of homophobic complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority. Previously the safe-sex ads have been described as "an attack on morality". This time G Waters complained, in part, "do you really think homosexuality should be promoted?" In a short ruling, the Authority says that is not grounds for a complaint. It has made the same assertion in the past.
