Miles' family shattered by prospect of appeal

Sat 27 Jul 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News

Hayden Miles Hayden Miles' family says it's outrageous that an appeal by his killer could ever be entertained. The gay teenager was beaten to death, then dismembered, by Gavin Gosnell in a Christchurch flat in August 2011. Gosnell has now lodged an appeal. Miles' mother Jacqui has told Newstalk ZB if an appeal is granted, it will be an absolute waste of tax payer money. She says the news of the appeal brings all the pain and trauma back to her and her family, when they have already suffered enough. However, she says they will continue to fight for justice.
