Swinton unfurls rainbow flag at Kremlin

Fri 5 Jul 2013 In: International News

British actress Tilda Swinton has defied Russia’s new anti-gay law by boldly standing in front of the Kremlin holding a rainbow flag. "In solidarity. From Russia with love," she has explained in a statement. The Oscar winner's stand comes just after Russia has enacted a law banning ‘gay propaganda’. It has introduced fines for anyone who promotes information ‘directed at forming non-traditional sexual setup’ in minors. Foreigners can not only be fined, but also arrested for 15 days and deported.
