Dalziel confirms tilt for Christchurch mayoralty

Lianne Dalziel Staunch GLBTI community supporter Lianne Dalziel has confirmed she will run for Christchurch mayor. “It's been a huge decision,” the sitting Labour MP says. “People have told me they are looking for effective and inclusive leadership, someone who can build a team around the council table - no A team or B team just one team - and someone who can work with central govt.” Dalziel has presented 16 times at Miss Mole’s Oscars, twice winning the Lifetime Achievement Award. “She’s a great friend to our community,” Miss Mole tells GayNZ.com Daily News. “We are thrilled.” Dalziel also won the Hero award the UpRising Trust’s Resonate awards in 2011. She will have a web page available this weekend where those offering to help can sign on.
