Gay rights activist, 18, dies after Paris attack

Clément Méric An 18-year-old gay rights activist has died after being attacked by a group of skinheads in Paris. Clément Méric was reportedly hit with a knuckle duster and hit his head on the pavement in a brutal attack near Saint-Lazare train station on Wednesday night. The anti-fascism campaigner had been at a clothing sale with friends. The teenager was placed on life support but was declared brain dead and died on Thursday. French media are reporting  four people with links to the far-right have been arrested. President Francois Hollande called for the anti-gay violence in France to come to an end, after a surge as the nation debated and passed a marriage equality bill.
