Auckland Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse Auckland’s Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse will be at a community gathering this Friday which will look at what would make Auckland a ‘liveable city’ for its GLBTI residents. Not Your Usual Hui organiser Cissy Rock says about 60 people expected to attend. “We’ve got a diverse group of people coming. Quite a lot of young people,” she says. “So we’re feeling quite good about that.” Rock says a second hui is also being planned for 20 July, a Saturday, as some people have said they can’t make a weekday gathering. She promises the gathering will be structured and momentum-creating, not “all hui and no do-ey”. The hui is being held at AUT’s WA Conference Centre from 8.30AM-12.30PM on Friday 7 June.
