Singapore has announced it will enforce censorship rules banning gay content from websites, by introducing a licensing system. The new rule from the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore any websites that report regularly on Singapore and get at least 50,000 unique visitors from Singapore over two months to apply for a license. Under the terms of the license, sites will not be allowed to publish anything that advocates ‘homosexuality or lesbianism, or depicts or promotes incest, pedophilia, bestiality and necrophilia'. Any sites breaching the ban will be stung with a fine of just over NZ$49,000.
