Salsa classes get a sultry same-sex spin

Tue 14 May 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News

Fancy a bit of same-sex Salsa? If you have ever wanted to try Salsa, but couldn’t find anywhere you could dance with someone of the same-sex, you are in luck. Teacher Donna Lambert and dancer Mike Brady are holding a class in Auckland next Saturday, and if there is enough interest they will hold more. “Salsa is the perfect way to get fit, make new friends, de-stress, gain confidence and have fun all at once,” Brady says. He only found his passion for dancing last year, and has since joined a performance team and participated in the New Zealand Salsa Championships in the Team Latin Styles Category. Brady says he is still learning and wants to share the dance with others, with a same-sex spin. He says having no dance experience is not a problem; “You'll be dancing by the end of your first Salsa class.” The class will be held at the Grey Lynn Library Hall at 474 Great North Road on Saturday 25 May, from 1-2PM. Cost is $20 for Adults and $10 for Students (ID Required). Contact: mike.j.brady@me.com.
