Andy Warhol’s ‘Immortal’ exhibition will be on display at Te Papa Museum from June to August. The exhibition focuses on Warhol’s obsession with people throughout his career from early drawings through to some of the last works he ever made. It documents the development of his personal image through a selection of self-portraits. The collection includes portraits of friends, celebrities, socialites, politicians, and rock stars across multiple media; paintings, MTV videos, experimental films, screen prints, drawings and magazine covers. The exhibition also features his work as a commercial artist, the installation Silver Clouds created in 1966 and a selection of black and white film portraits or screen tests created in the mid-sixties.
