Auckland’s Frontrunners back up and running

Wed 1 May 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News

Gay running group Frontrunners Auckland has been re-started and all are invited to get their joggers on and join in. Robbie Ellis and a few other running enthusiasts have brought Frontrunners back after it disbanded a few years ago. “Basically the Auckland group started in 1989 and hasn't been operating for the last two years,” he says. “Myself and one of the other new members ran with Frontrunners in Wellington and Dublin before moving to Auckland and so have decided to start the Auckland group up again.” Runners are now meeting for Sunday runs at 9am outside the Tepid Baths. Ellis says they run at a very 'social' pace for around 10kms then go for brunch afterwards. He says they will look at taking part in running events in the future. Anyone interested can find out more on the Frontrunners Facebook page or by emailing frontrunnersauckland@gmail.com
