Colin Craig is hoping the move will get his party into Parliament Colin Craig says the “day of reckoning” is still to come and Family Life International is predicting the complete destruction of marriage and families, following New Zealand's move to marriage equality. Craig, the Conservative Party leader who believes sexuality is a choice says “the day of reckoning on the redefinition of marriage is still to come,” and the decision “only reinforces the need for us to enter Parliament.” Family Life International NZ has repeated its stance that “true marriage can only be between one man and one woman”. Colleen Bayer Its National Director Colleen Bayer does not believe assurances marriage equality will not impact straight people. “But this legislation does affect those who are not in support of same-sex marriage. We are not allowed to speak our minds. We are called ‘haters’, ‘bigots’. What will come next?” She also expresses concern about the welfare of children, not seeming to accept the fact many gay couples already have children. “The nature of civil marriage has now changed in New Zealand. Introducing same-sex marriage does change the meaning of marriage. It changes people’s perception of what marriage is. In the end, parliament’s decision will lead us to the absolute destruction of marriage and family,” she finishes. Earlier National Director of Family First NZ and co-ordinator of the Protect Marriage campaign Bob McCoskrie said Parliament “committed an arrogant act of cultural vandalism,” while the Catholic Bishops of New Zealand labelled the passage of the Bill “bizarre”.   Meanwhile, people who try to comment or debate from a pro-equality perspective on Protect Marriage’s Facebook page continue to be blocked.
