Anti marriage equality protest - file photo The homophobic ‘Society for Promotion of Community Standards’ has written to the Attorney-General claiming the marriage equality Bill discriminates against straight married couples and those with “sincere religious beliefs”. The group decided at its recent AGM that ‘same-sex marriage’ is an oxymoron. “The Society contends that at heart the bill is based on a meaningless concept,” it says “And that the Attorney-General has a legal and moral duty to inform parliament that the bill is in direct conflict with the Bill of Rights on two counts and is legally flawed as it is based on a meaningless concept.”
