Winners of NZAF charity dating raffle drawn

Fri 22 Feb 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Chris Olwage and his date are jumping off the Sky Tower! The winners have been drawn in the New Zealand AIDS Foundation's Date4Good raffle, with six people winning dates with some stunning gay men. The dates up for grabs included recently crowned Mr Gay New Zealand 2013 Chris Olwage, Mr Gay World Andreas Derleth, Mr Gay NZ 2013 runner up Chris Meadows-Bonner, along with Ben Upin, Paval Jones and Nathan Jeune-Manning. The dates are all expenses paid experiences, ranging from relaxing afternoons lounging, wining and dining on Waiheke Island to action adventures such as kayaking and bungy jumping. Date4Good, an online bachelor raffle, was developed by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation with the support of Get it On! All proceeds from the initiative go towards essential services for people living with or affected by HIV in New Zealand. Host Chris Olwage says it's been a pleasure to be involved in a charity event that raises awareness for NZAF but also has a fun twist. “This just seemed part and parcel of continuing my longstanding work with NZAF. It's a great way to raise funds and awareness about HIV while having a good time. “I'm really looking forward to meeting my date, making a new friend, having some good conversations and of course jumping off the Sky Tower," he adds. NZAF Executive Director Shaun Robinson says he's pleased that all of the dates are now being teed up. “What a fantastic way to end the Pride Festival – enjoying the company of a fine gentleman and knowing that you're bid has contributed to helping those affected by HIV. It's a win-win situation for all involved."
