Priscilla Penniket speaks in schools as part of her role. Auckland queer and trans youth advocacy and support organisation Rainbow Youth is looking for a new Education Co-ordinator, with Priscilla Penniket heading overseas after four years in the role. During Penniket’s time with Rainbow Youth it has established a well-received education programme in schools around Auckland, and has created a strong and diverse Queer/Straight Alliance network throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. Executive Director Thomas Hamilton says staff will miss Penniket’s fabulous commitment and the amazing work she’s done to increase Rainbow Youth’s presence in classrooms around Auckland. "We are grateful for her dedication and hope she goes on to further her career and share her expertise with the rest of the world. Thanks and good luck." His sentiments are echoed by Rainbow Youth Board Chair Duncan Matthews who says Penniket has done an amazing job building the Rainbow Youth education package up to the point it is today. “The work she’s done will allow our new EC to hit the ground running.” More information on the role can be found here, but Rainbow Youth is looking for someone with a passion for education and advocating for queer and trans issues. It’s expected the new staff member will start in by March.Learn more about Penniket's role in the video below:
