Rotorua woman to be sentenced for killing lover

The victim: Michelle Hoffman-Tamm A Rotorua woman will today be sentenced for the murder of her casual lover, who she stabbed 32 times and whose throat she slit. Gwenda Leigh Sloane, 44, murdered Michelle Hoffman-Tamm, 51, in Rotorua, before disposing of her body in a forest in November last year. Before disposing of Hoffman-Tamm she cut off both of her victim's ears and left the body in a plastic bag on her kitchen floor for a day while she slept. Sloane pleaded guilty of murder on December 12th and will be sentenced at the High Court in Rotorua this afternoon.
