Fri 1 Feb 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Sir Paul Holmes HIV advocacy organisation Body Positive has this morning paid tribute to broadcaster and columnist the late Sir Paul Holmes, who has died after a protracted period of illlness, acknowledging his support for those with HIV. "Body Positive and several of our members have very fond memories of Paul," says the organisation's general manager Bruce Kilmister. "He was a champion of the underdogs in society including those of us living with HIV." "Paul was always willing to take a call and to try very hard to find some way to help, either publicly or privately," Kilmister says, adding that the recently knighted Holmes was "a real people's champion." Body Positive is the country's largest HIV-positive people's advocacy and support organisation with a membership primarily of gay and bi men who make up the overwhelming majority of New Zealanders infected by HIV.
