Fancy an evening with Mr Gay World? A date with a hottie on Waiheke or a kayaking trip with a foxy guy followed by dinner on a beach. Romantic getaways are up for grabs with several gay Auckland men, who are auctioning themselves off to raise money for the NZAF. Fancy a date? Paval Jones, Ben Upin, Andy Derleth Chris Meadows-Bonner and Chris Olwage are up for grabs! Date4Good.org.nz launched today with a line-up of men all vying for the bids of Auckland’s gay men. Local hotties Chris Olwage, Ben Upin, Paval Jones, Chris Meadows-Bonner and Mr Gay World Andreas Derleth are all up for grabs. The online raffle was developed by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation (NZAF) with the support of Get it On! and is just one of the many initiatives in the Auckland Pride Festival which runs from 8 to 24 February in Auckland. With proceeds from the initiative going towards essential services for people living with or affected by HIV in New Zealand, NZAF Executive Director Shaun Robinson says Date4Good is a great opportunity for people to get into the spirit of the Pride festival, and give a little back to the community while they’re at it. “Bids are only $10 and every bid placed goes directly into services for the community,” he says. “And if I can be so bold, I think there may be some spirited bidding for the handsome lads on offer.” The winners get romantic getaways, such as a guided paddle with Ferg’s Kayaks across the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto Island followed by dinner on the beach, a private kite-boarding lesson one of Auckland’s best beaches followed by a beach picnic, a jaunt to Waiheke Island for paddle-boarding followed by lunch at The Oyster Inn at Oneroa, dinner on the Auckland waterfront followed by a night at the Ronan Keating concert on 27 February, and more. There are no restrictions to the number of bids you can place. The winners will be drawn at random on Friday 22 February. GayNZ.com staff - 31st January 2013
