NY police accused of gay-hate crime beating

Jabbar Campbell at home after the attack and arrest A gay Brooklyn man has accused the New York police of dishing out a brutal homophobic beating. Jabbar Campbell, a forensic specialist, l says police responded to a noise complaint regarding a pride party he was hosting. Video footage shows a police officer reaching up and disabling with a security camera outside Campbell's front door. Once inside, wielding batons and torches, Campbell alleges they shouted anti-gay epithets such as "fag", "homo", "and a bunch of anti-gay slurs." He says two officers held him immobile, another held his head forward while several officers repeatedly punched him. After being taken into custody he was released after twenty four hours to seek medical treatment. Campbell's lawyer says the police are guilty of a hate crime.
