Chch's queen of glam, Miss Mole in party spirit 7.30PM: As parties and events catering to the glbti communities around the country kick in for New Year's eve one special party is quickly building into its venue and getting ready to raise the spirits of a quake-battered city. The crew for Christchurch's QNY party have the sound and lighting gear in place and the big countdown screen is running ready for a fun evening when the doors open at 9pm. "The preparations are going really well," says co-organiser Richard Tankersley. "We're looking forward to a great night with good music and entertainment and lots of love at midnight!" The venue for the party, the Honeypot Cafe at 458 Colombo Street in Sydenham, is near another big party tonight so Tankersley is suggesting people park "on the north, or city, side of the Honeypot. The QNY party is the latest of a series of events held to help the city's glgti people come together in a glbti-specific space several times year after Christchurch's venues were devastated by the series of earthquakes which laid the inner city low.
