Group set up for Outgames-bound competitors

A group has been set up to bring together New Zealanders heading to the World Outgames in Antwerp in August 2013. “We wanted to establish a local group to help with getting ourselves and others, to have a great experience as many of us enjoyed during the AsiaPacific Outgames last year,” spokesperson Sara Fraser says. “Although the Antwerp trip is foremost in our minds, we want to establish something which will help promote and fundraise for events beyond Belgium.” Fraser says the group, which can be found on Facebook here, also wants to encourage people from other sporting codes to be involved and help spread the word. “And to also mention, it is not just about sports, most of these events offer a fantastic Human Rights Conference, local arts and cultural events and, of course, the parties,” Fraser adds. “We see it as a great opportunity to travel to exotic places with other LGBQTTI peeps and generally have an amazing time.” The group will next meet on Wednesday at Wellington’s S
