Chch businessman witness in Thai murder trial

The alleged killer is arrested by Thai police One of Christchurch's highest-profile gay businessmen is in Thailand taking part in the trial of a Syrian man accused of killing gay New Zealander Charles Jones. Jones, 56, was stabbed to death last August in the Thai resort of Pattaya. His body was found by his travel buddy Stuart Yeatman, co-owner of the Menfriends gay men's venue. Police prosecutors are understood to have a very strong case against the 22-year old alleged killer, known only as Mohamed. Yeatman was asked at short notice to attend the trial, which is currently underway, as a witness for the prosecution.
