Police promise anonymity for any Take complaints

Mon 5 Nov 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News

Silipa Take Wellington police are reassuring anyone who wishes to speak to them about former New Zealand AIDS Foundation counsellor Silipa Take, that they will be treated with total respect and anonymity. Take is facing two charges of indecent assault of a man or boy over the age of 16 and arising from claims which first surfaced in 2009 when he worked for the Foundation, at its Awhina Centre in Wellington. While many of Take’s former clients have been discreetly contacted with assistance from the NZAF, some either did not leave real names or contact details when they went to the Centre, or have moved on. Police say anyone who contacts them to talk about Take will be treated with total respect, confidentiality and, if they prefer it, total anonymity. They can phone 04 381 2000 and ask for Detective Constable Lesa Eastergaard or Detective Daniel MacIntosh.
