A man walking home from a night out in Christchurch has managed to fight off another man who attacked him, in an incident police believe was sexually motivated. Detective Andrew Owens has told the Press the 37-year-old was attacked in Bristol St, St Albans, about 3am on Sunday, September 30. He said the man was pushed into a hedge, assaulted and held on the ground for a short time. The victim fought back and managed to get away. He ran home and phoned police. Owens said there was a ''sexual element'' to the attack. The offender was described as a European, aged 25 to 30, with short dark hair. He was wearing jeans and a shirt.
