Two rainbow-coloured pedestrian crossings are being built in Los Angeles’ gay hub West Hollywood. KTLA.com reports the brick crosswalks at Santa Monica and San Vicente boulevards were initially painted with temporary colours in June for Pride Month. However officials have decided to make them permanent and construction is underway The West Hollywood City Council says they are an important and powerful way to brand the city as an lgbt tourist destination. It’s asked visitors to use the Twitter hashtag #WEHOrainbow when visiting the crossings.
