Blake Skjellerup Closet-busting gay Olympian Blake Skjellerup is in second place heading into the final days of voting for a people’s choice $10,000 scholarship that would help him get a step closer to competing at the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014. The New Zealand short track speed-skating champion is just over 500 votes behind an IT engineer in the voting for the AMP People’s Choice Scholarship. Voting closes at 11.59PM this Sunday. As an openly gay man, Skjellerup is a leading advocate for the LGBT Community. This Scholarship will financially help him through to the Winter Olympics. You can vote for him here!
