Ak Town Hall rainbow flag plan backed by Hulse

Tue 25 Sep 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback View at NDHA

File photo Auckland’s Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse is backing a call for the rainbow flag to be flown above the city’s Town Hall during the Auckland Pride festival next year. The suggestion was made by Waitemata Local Board member Christopher Dempsey at a special glbt-themed meeting of the Council’s Social and Community Development Forum this afternoon. He even unfurled a rainbow flag of his own to illustrate his point. Hulse nodded in agreement at the idea, adding defiantly “and if not I’ll fly it from my window.” She later confirmed to GayNZ.com Daily News she thinks flying the rainbow flag from the Town Hall during the event is a wonderful plan.
