Swimming club planning "mini Outgames"

Mon 17 Sep 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Something of a “mini Outgames” is being planned for Wellington next January. Different Strokes Wellington Swim Club will host a friendly swim meet in Wellington on 26 January, and GLBTI swimmers from all over New Zealand are invited. It’s hoping other queer groups may be interested in running friendly tournaments in their respective fields over the same weekend. There will also be a social function that night. “The idea is to try to pull together an informal and friendly GLBTI sports and social weekend, for the fun of it but also to inject some life into the teams and queer networks that were formed through the advent of the Outgames,” says organiser Martin Kaulback.
