Sat 15 Sep 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Victoria University Law School is seeking applicants for a scholarship to help work on human rights issues for trans and intersex people. The project is designed to update the New Zealand and international position on gender identity human rights issues raised in the Transgender Inquiry, and provide a more comprehensive look at the position of intersex people. It will also discuss to what extent legal developments have occurred and what further need there is for reform of law or practice. The scholarship is worth $7,000 and the deadline for applications is 12 October. The applicants must have completed at least two years of an undergraduate degree and be enrolled at a university in New Zealand or Australia, and intending to enrol at Victoria in 2013. The project’s Supervisor is Associate Professor Elisabeth McDonald who can be contacted at elisabeth.mcdonald@vuw.ac.nz for more information
