Sat 1 Sep 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Urge has been fundraising for Blue September for five years Auckland gay bar Urge is once again asking its patrons to help support the Prostate Cancer Foundation, with a fundraiser tonight for its Blue September appeal. In New Zealand 1 in 10 men will get Prostate Cancer and every year around 500 men die from it. This is the fifth year that Urge has teamed up with the Foundation and owner Alan Granville is hoping for a good turnout at its Blue September launch on Saturday. “The evening has a blue dress code and we just want to encourage everyone to dig deep for a massively worthy cause,” Granville says. “We will be collecting through the month, so if you can’t make it on Saturday you can donate later.” Entry is free and there will be music from Urge resident DJ Mauri.
