Marriage " a personal thing" John Key says

Wed 29 Aug 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News

Prime Minister John Key Heading into today’s first reading of the marriage equality Bill, Prime Minister John Key is adamant no straight people will be disadvantaged if it passes. He is among a majority of MPs who have stated they will vote for the Bill at its first reading tonight. Key has told Newstalk ZB marriage equality is just one step on from civil unions, and he’s not sure it will dramatically change things. “[I don’t think] If two gay people decide to get married, in any way it’ll impinge on my marriage to Bronagh. It’s a very personal thing.”
