Community promised more info on Pride soon

Thu 9 Aug 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News

Co-Chairs Gresham Bradley and Timothy McMichael The Auckland Pride Festival Trust has begun recruiting for the two crucial roles of Pride Festival Coordinator and Pride Parade Coordinator ahead of February’s inaugural Auckland Pride, and promises meaty announcements about the event will be made soon. Trust Co-Chairs Gresham Bradley and Timothy McMichael say key information will be revealed over the next few weeks, including details of the parade, which will be held on 16 February, in the middle of the festival which will run from February 10-23. Bradley says the Trust is working on a new format for the parade. “Something quite different from the old Hero Parade,” he says. “We appreciate the growing sense of excitement as Auckland's Rainbow Community waits for news, and it won't be long now". McMichael adds that the fun will soon begin for community groups across Auckland and around New Zealand “as they start their own planning and contribute to what will certainly be the highlight of the 2013 LGBT Calendar”. The Chairs say the Trust is looking forward to receiving applications “from qualified and experienced people in the GBLT community” for the Pride Festival Coordinator and Pride Parade Coordinator roles.
