Wall's marriage bill tipped to pass first reading

Thu 2 Aug 2012 In: New Zealand Daily News

Radio New Zealand believes Louisa Wall’s marriage equality bill will have enough support to pass its first reading. It says 58 of the 121 MPs it has contacted say they will definitely vote for the bill, while seven say they will not. “Of the MPs who remain undecided, enough say they are leaning towards voting yes to get the numbers over the 61 votes required to pass the legislation,” Radio New Zealand says.
